National Bird of the Philippines

One thing was consistent everywhere we went outside of Manila, and that was the chickens. In Palawan in particular, the roosters awakened us bright and early (actually, it seemed they crowed at all hours of the day and night, so eventually we got used to them). It was an interesting experience, but one I'm happy not to repeat. I have my own alarm clock, and it comes with a snooze button, thank you very much.
