We're back! And as much as I like to travel, I have to admit that it feels pretty good to be here. The last few weeks were a whirlwind of trains, planes, buses, and more, and it's nice to know we're staying put for awhile (at least until we have to leave the country again because of our visas!).

What with 5 weeks of jam-packed traveling, there's tons to blog about, but before we get into all of that, here are a few random curiosities from the week before we left on our trip.

MSG: It really is popular enough to require its own signpost in Wal-Mart.

Wine in a can (to be fair, this seems to be an Australian invention, but I saw it in Beijing, so it counts).

Sure, you've had Wrigley's spearmint gum...but have you had cantaloupe? (It's not as gross as it sounds, but I wouldn't get it again!)

I swear, I couldn't make this stuff up. We saw this on the menu of a very nice restaurant near our apartment.
