Meet My New Best Friends...
...the Potato Pals! There's Buddy, Daisy, Chip, Dean, Nina, and Joy, six cute little potatoes who want to help kids learn English. We use these books for the youngest classes (American ages 6-7), and they come with worksheets and catchy songs.
The only problem is that the songs are a little too catchy. Today we started the book called On a Camping Trip. The song begins, "Camping, camping, let's go camping. Camping, camping, camping!" And that's the part that gets stuck in my head all. day. long.
We'll have to see if it can beat the record holder, In the Morning ("In the morning, in the morning, what do you do in the morning?"). We've been through the first set so far, about 6 books, and so far In the Morning is the winner for most. annoying. song. ever.
I planned on posting some pictures from last weekend, when we went to this acupuncture thingy and a big birthday part for a 1-year-old, but when I went to download the pictures right before leaving for work, both camera batteries were dead (we have two so that there's always a backup--at least, that's the theory). Problem is, we charged one this weekend and for some reason it was dead when I tried to use it. Hopefully it's something stupid, like the camera accidentally got turned on, instead of a problem with the battery. Anyway, get ready for posts on hand acupuncture and the biggest party you've ever seen for a 1-year-old, coming up later this week!

So fun. Do they have Potato Pals shirts? Because they're cute.
Thanks AJ!
This is PJ, the guy responsible for your new best friends. Delighted you like 'em. Enjoyed your blog.
As for the songs, the guy (Brian Cullen, fellow Irishman) who wrote the songs said to me "Paddy, these aren't songs, they're viruses!"
Bye for now!
