People of Five Animals

Animals play a major part in traditional Mongolian life, so much so that Mongolians call themselves the people of five animals: cows (and yaks), goats, sheep, horses, and camels.

Seven to 10 goats are worth 5 to 7 sheep (but in spite of their inequality, apparently they can still hang out together when grazing).

Five to 7 sheep are worth 1 horse.

And 1.5 horses are worth 1 camel.
